Vintage 8K gold cocktail ring with cabochon cut amethyst, 1950s / 1960s
Let's start immediately by saying that with this ring you will not go unnoticed, and there is no doubt about this!
It is in fact a beautiful and particular cocktail ring, made in the 60s and with a setting (in 8K yellow gold) and a stone with unusual shapes.
The stone is a beautiful amethyst (so nothing strange), but cabochon cut; and it is precisely this cut that makes it special, since it is truly special to the eye and to the touch: the surface is smooth and semi-transparent, but inside it hides the colors and purple shades typical of this stone.
Looking at the setting, however, we can see how the claws that hold the stone create a decorative outline that surrounds the stone, highlighting it even more.
The jaws are very thick and very high, thus moving the central part away from the stem, which is in total harmony with the whole ring.
