Vintage claddagh ring in 14K gold with diamonds and green stone, 60s / 70s

Tonight I'm showing you a vintage example of a classic Irish ring, the Claddagh Ring.
The "Claddagh Ring" is a traditional ring from Ireland and as you can see it features two hands holding a heart topped with a crown.
This ring has a strong symbolic value, representing in fact love, loyalty and friendship; specifically the two hands represent friendship, the heart (obviously) love and the crown loyalty.
This ring has its origins in an Irish village since the 1600s, and is part of a group of rings called "fede rings"; the name "fede" comes from the Italian phrase "mani in fede" (more precisely it means "hands joined in faith").
The "wedding rings" are a type of rings that date back to Roman times, when the gesture of the intertwined hands was a symbol of a promise of marriage; in the medieval period and during the Renaissance they therefore imposed themselves as engagement / wedding rings.

In our case, as mentioned, it is a vintage example (from the 60s / 70s); the arms (which act as a stem), the hands and the crown are entirely made of 14K gold, and the "cuffs" are each decorated with a row of three diamonds; the heart, on the other hand, perfectly modeled, is a green stone.
