This important and elegant vintage ring is an example of what are called "cocktail rings".
A cocktail ring is a rather large and eye-catching ring, which is often decorated with a large stone.
These rings take this name because they were worn at American "cocktail parties", by ladies who wanted to show off and, therefore, to be particularly (and certainly) noticed.

This ring reflects all the characteristics of this type of rings: it is in fact decorated with a wonderful and important citrine quartz, inserted in a beautifully crafted and worked setting, making the ring itself decoration (and entirely made of 14K gold).
