Vintage 18K gold ring with opals (approx.2ctw) and diamonds (approx.0.06ctw), 1970s
This vintage ring looks like a beautiful abstract painting, made by a person who clearly got carried away by fantasy.
The ring was in fact created with unusual and particular shapes, made following the fancy cut of the three opals that decorate it; the latter, basically cabochon cut, were further cut with abstract shapes.
In the middle of the three opals we find two diamonds, and a third has been placed at the base of the two lower ones, thus giving further touches of light.
The opals are for an estimated total of approx. 2ct, while the diamonds are for a total of approx. 0.06ct.
The frame is made entirely of 18K yellow gold.
