Vintage 18K gold ring with blue topaz, 1940s

In this ring I can't really say whether the setting or the stone is more beautiful: they are both two elements at the service of the other, which absolutely do not overshadow each other and indeed manage to make each other stand out.
In the center we find an oval cut topaz of a very intense blue.
The stone is held by six claws, well studied and worked to make them an integral and visible part of the decoration; the shoulders are also decorated with beautiful workmanship.
The choice of a blue stone and a yellow gold setting is definitely a winner in this case.
