Vintage 18K gold necklace with cabochon cut opals, 1970s
What I appreciate most and what strikes me most about this necklace was the choice of decorating it with many small drops of opals, larger in the center and smaller as you go up the neck; the final result is that of a real rainbow in motion, perfect and harmonious.
In fact, having many degrading pendants that decorate the entire front part of the jewel, the effect obtained is a continuous play of colors, which include blue, yellow, orange, green and probably many other shades.
The cabochon-cut opal drops are attached by two rings to a necklace which is itself made up of double ring links, all entirely in 18K yellow gold.
The necklace is vintage and dates back to the 1970s.
